So y'all had a good time? It could only have been better than flying to Houston!

Yes, it was a good time... that photo was taken before the meal. We were farmed in like a heard of cattle and just suddenly asked to stop before we got to the table and lineup!
Then they shoved a card in our hands and asked us to buy!
Thankfully a lot of people took their own cameras

Ah, the joys of commercialism and the Christmas party season, then!
So where are all the other photos, or is everyone nursing massive hang-overs?

Following the comments posted by Gt on the 5th December about the christmas meal, I thought an alternative version would be of interest.
Yes, it was a good time... that photo was taken before the meal. We were invited into the restaurant, though because there were so many of us it almost felt like we were farmed in like a heard of cattle and just suddenly asked to stop before we got to the table and lineup!
Then they handed us a card which told us how to view the images on the internet, this was all free of charge and although we probably wont purchase a print it was good to see a shot of us all together.
I can see the photographer has copyright all over these images, but Ive still lifted them off his site, and republished them here, I sure he wont mind, but I can't be bothered to mention it to him.
Now I know Ive signed the Car forums contract as not to do anything illegal with this site but hey rules are to be broken.
The spirit of Christmas hey, people are prepared to stand on a weekend, produce work free of charge and then have others post embelished storys about them on the internet!

And of course the FREE ADDITIONAL ADVERTISING that the photographer is getting isn't a consideration.

Geoff, whats your problem? The picture clearly has your URL on it, then it has a link and credit to you underneath. It is not of a quality that can be printed and if anyone does want a copy will be bounced to your site to buy a good quality print.
Isn't the fact that this picture is on here with all these links in place a good thing for you from an advertising point of view?

There are no inconsistencies in my posts; occasionally, however, there are alternate pasts.

Good point ZS. If he sells any pictures of us, I bet its cos they were seen on here first. I don't remember getting a card at the Xmas do, and if I did, I lost it anyway so wouldn't have known where to get the pics from in the first place.
Geoff, I think we've done you a favour here Although with a first post like that, you're hardly going to make any friends.

Geoff, firstly - welcome to brit-cars.com! I am please you have managed to find us.
Please don't take my comments too much to heart, anyone who knows me will know that most things I post are tounge-in-cheek, although I realise from reading it now that I could of made a better post. I apologise if you would rather this picture was not posted in this gallery I will remove it.
I did not intend to cause any trouble by posting a copy here, nor did I realise you had done this in your own free time.
As most people were far too drunk by the end of the evening, very few had any idea where to go to get the picture, since this gallery was available, I thought it would be good for everyone to be able to see one of the three previews from your website here so they can goto your site and purchase if so desired.

It's hardly his 'free time' Rob, as he expects to sell many prints as a result of the evenings work, which I'm sure will be sold at a profit. If he doesn't sell enough to cover his expenses then I'm afraid that's a risk of the business he's in, but 'free time' it most definately is not in my opinion.

Hi Gt
thanks for your reply, I apprecaite youre comments were tongue in cheek and infact I hope my reply can be taken in the same way. I have no objection to the image appearing on this site [although it is always best to check].
Had you not suggested that you were asked to buy on the evening I would not have even bothered with initial contact.
You and others have slighly misread my reply It does not state it was done in free time, It says the photography and internet images were all provide to view free of charge.
I hope you all enjoy viewing the images and I am Very Impressed by the site
Best Wishes
Geoff Sumpter

My apologies for the mis-interpretation!
My thanks for your permission to display the image, you are right, I should have asked.
My comment about being asked to buy on the evening was over the top and for others who have been reading this, we were given a small business card with contact details should we wish to buy and no pressure was given. The moment of the picture taking was done professionally and I think its a great group photograph!
